I need a new set of boots as my 4.5 year old HG Race now have holes in the leather, probably due to my foot sweat dissolving it, nice
![]() So what boots are there out there with great protection and nice feel? These will be for track riding and occassional summer blasts so don't neeed to be waterproof/super practical. I'm happy to spend some money, but I am a little loath to shell out for a pair of Daytonas, unless they are really worth it. Something with an inner boot appeals, but this is not a necessity. So what are the models and manufacturers that I should be considering? And how have you found them to wear? Obviuosly fit will come into this, but I want to know where to start looking... |

Both! I want super protective and super "feely" but don't mind restricted movement/appearing to walk in an odd manner off the bike.

Gotcha
I really like my competizone s boots and walk around in them can feel through them, but i havent tried them in a crash. I also have some sidi vertigo's they seem to be a popular choice amognst racers and although mine are a bit big i have crash tested them and they held up well, i also used to walk in the up 100 steps and about about 5 minutes from the carpark to the class room at college for a year and a bit, they have worn on the sole and the usual marks you get from walking where they bend, but still they have held up well with yet ![]() |

You want white ones to go with your sig?
BTW, I rate the SIDI Vertigo - but you may want to try them on first, their sizing is a little small. |

Black(ish) boots for me, I'm no Star Wars extra
![]() Thanks for the info so far. I will definitely try before I buy for fit. Feel/protection is harder to guess.... |

Hi, I am now on my 3rd pair of Sidi's as I like the protection/support and light weight.
My latest pair "chrissie pres to self" are Sidi Vertigo Mega Goretex, mega being a wider width, Sidi' are normally small on their sizing, where I would normally have gone the next size up to get the width I now have the correct length and width. Not sure whether they are doing other models in the mega width. Still only wearing whilst in and around the house due to the weather, but comfort wise so far very good as they are also adjustable for calf sizing. Bit long winded but obeservations may be helpfull. I have quite narrow feet, so the standard Sidi may fit me quite well.

I have some Daytona Evo Goretex boots and they're brilliant. Feel great on the bike - really safe, and fine for walking about in when you're off the bike. Not really crashed in them yet mind.
If I lost mine tomorrow, I'd buy some more. |
