When I bought my SV 5 years ago, I noticed that over the many bumps and on pot-holes on the UK's ****e roads that it made a clunking noise from the front end. I was reliably informed by the many knowledgeable people on here that it was the front shocks/springs that come as standard.
Any how I have just had Hagon progressive springs fitted with fresh oil and it still makes the same noise. So, any ideas any one?! Does my head in. It's the only thing that annoys me about my bike!! Cheers! |

it really is an SV thing. I've done the whole Hagon thing front and rear, its just made it less of a clunk. On the other SV I've done the headbearings, new forks, different oil, different springs.....and it clonks worse....gah, get some earplugs!

Mind did that, took it in to be serviced by an old man who has been playing with bikes for 50 years and he identified it as (i could be wrong) but the headraces being loose and requiring tightening.
Whatever he did he sorted it and the bike felt much better.

My 05 pointy does it, played around with the forks preload and it does it less (either that or im avoiding the potholes more).
Weird thing is that my sk1 didnt do it at all. Must be "one of those things" ![]() |
