Let me start by saying there is nothing wrong with my brakes. But today, PM routine I do every year.
Out came the brake pins, a little spin in the drill with a bit of wet&dry to clean them. a quick inspection of the pads, a little coating of copper grease to the back of the pads and the brake pins/blind retaining hole and clips/cover back on. Less than 10 minutes/caliper. Years ago I had to split a caliper to get the pins out, never again. an hour of maintenance each year cures the heartache/aggravation of seized pins. I recommend all should perform this little annual preventative maintenance. If your pins wont come out now. Just think you now know you need to allocate some time/effort for when your pads need a change. Forewarned and all that. It is a pity that it is not included in the service schedule, instead you simply get an "inspect" which means look for wear/operation. greasing them now means they will come out next year for greasing or when you need to change pads

Pretty similar calipers to the SRAD then just with different mounting points. Personally I'd be rebuilding whole caliper every year or sooner, as they are bare alloy calipers and do like to sieze up...

I check the operation of both pistons etc. whilst down there. So far I have had no indication of siezure, but then again the bike is 6 years old and 9500 on the clock. Fair weather and cleaned after etc.
