Default Looking for some help with a shock

I recently won a 2008 ZX10R shock on ebay http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=129384 I did not appreciate that these shock are significantly different to the <2008 shocks when i bought it.

Looking at pictures of the shock I may have to move the battery box etc before having the shock fitted.

Would anyone like to volunteer a hand for the battery box alterations and maybe the shock install.

I am live in the renfrewshire area

Cheers.

But seriously...

Get a dremel and work out what needs cutting, just make sure you can get away with just cutting the battery box and not the stuff inside it

Hello,
I did the zx636 c1h on my curvy, the battery box needed cutting as well as the tank hinge.
Only saw 1 zx10 fitted (didn't need the hinge cut) but that was an earlier model.

Get a sharp stanley knife, cut what needs cutting, the battery still goes it the same place (I THINK this will be the same with the 2k8 shock), It will sit on the shock reservoir, so put some padding there (mine was ok after 8 months and 5k miles) you'll have to bin the top battery tray and relocate the fuse box. you also might have to cut the tank hinge, I used a junior hack saw.
Useful tool: rubber mallet.

Unfortunately I live on the other end of Scotland :/

I got the above Kawasaki part numbers from the online microfiches at http://www.ronayers.com/ it's a really useful site for looking up part numbers! It also has a reverse lookup thing that lets you see what other bikes share the same part, quite cool I reckon!

http://www.bikebandit.com/ also has online microfiches, but it doesn't list the manufacturer's part numbers.

Hopefully I'll be getting an '05 zx6r shock on sunday for my sv.
This should be it

Thanks for that lot.

I reverse looked up the 2 bolts below and neither of them share the zx10 platform. So still pretty stuck.

I can find the parts diagram of the zx10r on that site but it doesnt give you a part number next to the item.

Give them a call or send them an email and ask about a bolt for the "fork" end for your shock. They will be able to help you.

Superb managed to order the bolt and nut for a 2008 ZX10R. Thanks for the help, the "fork" end description helped.

I just have to wait on both the shock and the bolt/nut being delivered and then hope that the damn thing fits.

I am sure with Husky's help it will "fit".

Cheers
