Default Fuel under a K9 - overfull?

Mate's just phoned me up, he's got a brand new 09 SV Sport.
Tells me that there's petrol puddling under his bike if he leaves it anywhere, only a small amount and he thinks it's exiting from the breather tubes behind the rear brake pedal.

I'm wondering if it's simply overfilled, as I say he's new to the SV and may have put a bit too much fuel in - any other ideas for this?

Overfilled is most probable.

Brimmed then left in the sunn probably

the heat from the sun will make the petrol expand that much to come out of the pipes

Thanks guys, I'll give him a bell and set his mind at rest

I'd hazarded a guess at the same, but only having had an SV for 3 months I'm not fully up to speed on it little quirks myself yet!

My tank is almost empty at the moment - but look for my thread this morning about my bike whistling.

I would bet that had I more fuel in it then I too would have a puddle.

Yes, I read your thread about a pressurised tank - when I was scouting around for any other explanations. Have you found the blockage yet? if not, good luck

Seems to be common on Kwaks and may not be due to a blockage.....

If it helps my er6 whistled all the time and occasionally opened with a pop as the pressure equalized.

Dealers never thought anything of it!
