Default not quite an sv650...but i still love it.

Well I pulled the trigger and replaced my sv650. Actually sold the sv back in late fall to pay off my car, then I wanted to get back into motorcycling. Missed my old sv, but wanted something a bit different...then this thing fell into my lap...

1989 Yamaha XT350 (kickstart only and bone stock)

My old 2000 Suzuki SV650

My first bike 1987 Kawasaki ZX1000R

As you can see, each new bike halved it's displacement and cylinders...In a few months you'll see me on a Honda CT90 .

Don't think Americans are required to have a power restriction.. I know loads of squids who ride R1's at 18, 19 etc.

yeah, it was a pretty big mistake. all my buddies that had been riding for years told me "it's just like a 500 or 600 if you twist the throttle less". i listened to them, but wised up after i did a 540 degree spin and tossed myself into a ditch...

months later i found out they all learned to ride on dirt with little 80 or 125cc bikes...

yeah it was pretty deep in the mud...glad i didn't try that trail with my sv

and yes my zx10 supposedly had 125bhp when new...a bit much for a new rider who had only ridden a 50cc moped for one summer when he was 12.

yep, we have no restriction... we regularly hear about new riders buying the latest and greatest 600 or 1000 and then dumping it when leaving the dealership. you only need to fill out a simple mindless written permit test in most states. makes me think sometimes that a graduated license like what you have would work out much better...

well theres controversy over our new test at the moment but yea, having some form of practicle training is a must. What about insurance in america? if i want an R1 now (23 years old, 2 years NCB, 3 years lisence held) its £1500 for third party, fire and theft cover. fully comp is something stupid, like £4000. and thats before i get quotes for london
