Default k3 33bhp removed help please bike seems slow

hi guys new to the site have owned my k3 full faired sv650 since march toured Spain on her which may i say she did perfectly! my sv was restricted when i bought her (i have a full license) so want to remove it, its not on the ecu as usual it done by restricting the throttle play and washes to restrict air flow ive taken the throttle restrictor off but the washes are not in the air box were they are ment to be so i assume already been remover (may be wrong) it may be me wanting more but i find she struggles to go over 8k and doesn’t top much over a ton (i take her on track days and would never dream of doing that on the road) am i being greedy or is there something wrong i do have a racing can. Also thought i might im only around 11 stone so my weight cant be a factor.

Thanks

You're thinking of the wrong bike. I don't think there are any restricting washers in your k3, on the old models yeah but on the k3 I believe a replacement(non restricted) ECU is required.

You are correct, the fuel injected SV is ECU, the Carb'd version ie Curvy is washers...
Just because it might be a 03 plate it may be a 02 Curvy bike first registered
in 03...

Dave you can restrict injected bikes either way.

Sounds like something is definitely up tho - peak power should be just past 9000rpm and still pulling hard up to the redline. Are you sure the air intake isn't restricted in some way?

ahh good point! If it is the carbed model then the the washers whould be visible sat in the carb mouths. I didn't know they restricted the throttles on carbed bikes though, thought it was only on fuel injected's so as not to confuse the fancy electricories and injectamos.

hmm didn't know that, where are the washers located on an injected bike, in the throttle bodies or something?

Sounds like the bike might have a restricted ECU. The question is how to identify such a beast.

The restricted ones' part numbers end in a 2 (or 002?) whereas standard one's are a 1

Sure about that Dave? The only info that I have turned up has been part numbers 32920-17G10 for restricted and 32920-17G20 unrestricted.
