You tried just prodding it with a soldering iron? Headlight mounts tend to be well tucked away so it doesn't matter if it looks like pigeonsh*t

I bodged my headlight fitting with a soldering iron, but then got the local repair guy to do a proper job when it fell to bits again. He used a hot air gun like the one in your second link, however not sure how much they're different to say a paint stripping hot air gun.
The key is to have some of the plastic rods to melt onto the break to help it stick. |

You need the correct plastic rods for different types of ABS, which is why I save broken fairings and sidepanels. Cut into strips they make ideal filler rod for when I'm welding plastics, as long as you can remember what bike the broken plastics came off.
