Default water pump leak - plan of action?

i have a [I]tiny [I]leak of coolant from the water pump housing. Just a few really small drops seeping out.

So what should I do ?

1. leave it - don't worry unless it leaks more?
2. buy all the seals/o-rings, pull it apart and put in the new seals?
3. buy a new pump/housing and put that on?
4. buy a 2nd hand pump/housing and put that on?
5. give it to the garage and tell them to sort it? I expect that they'd just replace the whole pump rather than replacing the seals..

Cheers in advance

Chris

I'd buy a seal kit and sort it myself.
also drop and replace the coolant at the same time

Yup and don't forget the gasket for the caseing.

Last time I did one on Curvy, think all came to about £30 including the gasket for the side casing. You might not need the gasket for the side casing but chances are, you would hehe

One of the seals, you'd need to 'drive in'. A suitable socket should suffice...careful you don't bugger that eh

Also need some circlip pliers.

Cheers
Ben

any-one done the seals on a 2003 pointy sv650s?
I hear it's different than the curvy one - you have to take off the whole clutch cover side I think....

flick the sidestand up and lean the bike over much further than normal; this way, you'll prevent loosing oil and making a right mess.

I'll have to do a full coolant and oil change I suppose, unless you have an easier idea?
