Default Bike bores.

Is it just me ??? or does your bike take over your life ?? .... and does it turn you in to a right wet-maintanence-blanket ???

It feels to me that I spend all my time now planning what to do to the bike, doing it, cleaning it, maintaining it ..... it a right bore !!

Buy a car - drive it !!
Buy a bike - panda over it like its made out of tissue paper ??

Even my neighbours look at me strange these days as if to say ..... 'what the hell are you doing to the bike now ???!!!'

... and I don't think I care about my bike that much ... I use it everyday, and certainly don't wash it after every ride, or check the tyre pressures every day, etc, like some !!

Everyone needs a hobby

I try not to bore anyone unless they bring up bikes first.

I have my sensible bike (VFR750) which I do virtually nothing to, then I have the SV which is modded to hell and I keep thinking of new stuff to do to it. Then I have a top secret project.

Hmmmm....the only things I plan are when to ride it, and the next service date.

Then again, I'm not one of these clean types. I'd much rather stay out on the roads an hour longer, than go home and clean it!

Biking does take over you life. When you're not riding, you're reading about it.

In fact, it also has detrimental effects. I used to looove driving my car. Now I just kind of enjoy it at best because I feel like a chump in a cage and its soo dry in comparison.

I find the girlfriend doesnt understand the extra maintenance needs of a bike over a car, bearing in mind she cant even be bothered to check her own washer fluid.....I pointed this out and wasnt very popular for a while.

She also gets moody whenever I do something to the bike, I was cleaning it, doing the tyre pressure etc at the weekend, came inside afterwards and she was like "youve been ages and im bored" and I was like "im the person that been out freezing my nuts off, youve got a TV, Wii and PC to keep you entertained in here".
