Default possible raffle of my bike?

So anybody that has seen my bike for sale tread will have seen a fellow orgers idea of offering it up for raffle, so this thread is to see how much interest there is.

So the idea is that the tickets would cost £10 each and when my asking price is reached i will have a independent person to draw it whoevers ticket comes out wins her simple as that!

I could do with some ideas as to the legal side of it (think its all legit)

so i will enclose a photo of the prize and a link to the for sale thread so you can see what you are getting.

there is no mot or tax but i have no worries that it will go straight through and the mirrors need finishing but that was my last job.

Cheers

Where's the poll?
At £10 when are you going to say that's enough?
How do we know you'll return the money if the draw is not made?

Wasn't the asking price 1700?

I guess you would have to post on more forums than just here to be able to sell 170 tickets.

Good idea though.

My Grandpa once did this with an old Ford V8 Drop Head Coupe when he left Egypt in the '50s, I could ask him for tips if you want

Some people sold tickets to raffle their house after having trouble selling it in the normal way.

The understanding was that if the asking price wasn't reached by a certain date then the raffle would be drawn for another prize. My addled memory is telling me that it was all the cash from ticket sales minus running costs of the raffle.

They set up a website with all the competition details on it and appeared on breakfast TV.

Check out the legalities, there might be something to do with the gaming act and requiring a licence

Is that actually legal? If I entered to win a house, and the organisers changed the prize which I won, I'd be miffed. May as well do the scratchcards from magazines...

It was in the rules up front so everyone knew what the deal was when they bought the tickets. The house was only up for grabs if the target ticket sales were met.

I am sure that they had solicitors involved due to legalities of raffling things like houses!

if you need a gambling licence i can arrange the draw from my local casino making it legal, if that was a problem.
as for number of people put the raffle on ebay im sure that would draw in the people.
