They have the sh1ttest online banking facility I have ever used. By sh1ttest I mean 8/10 times I go to log on, it times out somewhere along the process.
The End. |

I find that it causes my computer to crash if you do not allow it to fully load, which can take a few seconds. However, every time I log in, it tells me that my browser has crashed and it is unable to open the page, just before it opens. Also every time I log in, it asks me to download a security system, which I have down loaded and installed, but fails to work.
In branch I was so unhappy with the poor service of Santander that I have now moved banks. Quite frankly, I am unimpressed with Santander, who took over the Alliance and Leicester with whom I banked with for over ten years with no issues or problems. Santander are unhelpful, rude on the phone and will not admit to a mistake when they have made one. I greatly miss the Alliance and Leicester who were always fair, had a good moral code and the on line banking page always worked. My advice: try a different web browser and then when that fails, try a different bank. |

Well, I moved to Santander from Natwest out of spite.
I have ruled out all the obvious. Browsers (FF + IE), Networks (4 or 5 different locations), even AV. This isnt me leaving it to time out, its me patiently waiting for the ****ing page to load! Dont have the same issue on Natwest (still use them for some stuff), or Tesco banking. So, Santander are ****. |

Thanks, You've just convinced me not to swap from Barclays. Their internet banking is quite good.

The obvious question is
what is the spec of your computer (and age)? I use a laptop with windows XP and only have 512MB of memory I am on Virgin Media with a (quite) fast broadband connection. I have had minimal problems with Abbey/Santander We have a new fast laptop with 3GB memory - this is much faster. SMcG in sunny Glasgow (used Gladius for 1st commute today since early last November) |
