Default next phase of the projector light project.

well, at last the headlight lense is now seperate from the back portion.

Next step to make it road legal, and pass it MOT next year is to sort out the headlight aim, as it currently has a kick upwards to the right, so will blind UK road users.

Pic below shows current metal casting, with kick. note, as its a curved lense everything behind it, has to be the wrong way round effectively.

I need to make it like this:

The black drawn area need to be filled to create a flat beam pattern to gain an mot. the whole unit looks to be cast, so its not a removable insert. If i was to form up the part with something soft like tin, or very thin metal what is a good heat resisting glue once set, Im thinking araldite maybe?
Any ideas on the material used to create the beam pattern welcome, bearing in mind its going to get very hot in there

How about slotting the holes that hold it together so you can rotate it?

That's how the Projector headlights on my E30 are, saves using crappy beam deflectors.

That's the guts of one, takes a H1 bulb/HID and I have one going spare...

Tempting, maybe an easy way out, although the only downside is the headlight adjusters are built into the projector housing, just out of shot of my picture. 2 adjusters, and the 3rd to support it.

you can just about make out 2 of them in the picture.

Not sure how Id adjust the headlight without the correct bracket, unless I had one made up at work.

How much you want for it?

How does £5 sound, to cover postage.

Will see if I can find it's basket and lens too.

My mate had this problem on his GSXR headlight he got from Ebay, he used some speedtape from work (very sticky aluminum tape) and basically stuck it over the portion you have coloured in, purely to get it through it's MOT...

Seems like a lot of hard work. Why not buy a pair of these for £60? I have them on my curvey & it passed the MOT no problem.

Build it up with a bit of fibreglass, or tin can and araldite would work too

Mine have been posted, unfortunately i could not find the baskets but I did find 2 of the units pictured above, so they are both in the box.

They are BOSCH units

Those that warrenhewitt linked to look really good, but are they a UK beam pattern and 8000K HID's are really blue, I run 6000K in the car and they can best be described as Ice White, Pure White and the brightest is 4300K.

Hope that helps.
