Just dropped in to say Hi to fellow SV owners. Previously a GS400 owner some years ago (which I loved and took all over Europe) I picked up my fully faired 650s K2 in yellow a couple of weeks ago and just can't stay off it! 9,000 miles on the clock and only done 600 miles since it's last service 4 years ago. (I know, I know!! But I'm pretty certain it's genuine. MOTs and service records all match up. The pensioner owner kept it in his garage for show and apart from the downpipe its immaculate.) I guess that means it needs another service but my local Suzuki dealer, after extensive tooth sucking, want £425 to do it! Any ideas guys?

It's amazing how many SVs I see now I own one. And the sound!!!

Happy riding all! Maybe see you about!

Owdoo from oop norf.

The last service I had done by a reputable bike mechanic was somewhere arounf 200 quid, and it had been off road for a while, so needed some extras done, as it had electrical gremlins.

Seems a bit on the steep side 425 quid. What needs doing, oil change, oil and air fliter, brakes servicing? I'd have a bit of a look around see if you can get it cheaper.

how doo

425 seems steep as DB has said. The motor only needs a oil, filter and balance which is about £150 as a dealer. A brake rebuild should be about £130 quid including seals (pattern).
I'm guessing you're not able to anything on the bike.

Put a shout in the South & South West Surfers someone down there should be able to recommend somewhere, or help you

Blimey, not another yellow one! Are they breeding?

Anyway, welcome from further up the coast. Ride safe and don't spend £425 on a service. Think of all the lovely bits and bobs you could get with the two or three hundred pounds change you should have getting it done by someone sensible (the only guy I know is in Bognor, which doesn't help you much, sorry).
