Default Yamaha FJ1200 bars fitted to my Sv650s-GIF pic before/after

I created a GIF so you can see the before and after shot in one. It shows how much higher and further back the FJ1200 clip-on bars are compared to the standard clip-on ones. Hope this helps someone who may be thinking of doing the same. They're 1 1/2" higher as i measured before i changed them but didn't measure the distance back, i'd estimate it to be about 2" closer to the rider. Doesn't touch the tank on lock-to-lock either. Bit of work to fit, took half hr to machine clearance on them at work, and an evening to fit, alot of faffing around re-routing wiring, getting enough clearance to angle the levers downward and just enough length on the standard front brake hose to get away with it. But it can be done!

You're gonna break that door if you keep slamming it like that.

Looks like a good mod. Have you been for a test ride yet? Should be a bit cumfier now

I have, but the roads had been gritted and cars were icing up as it was about 9pm and below zero degrees so i wasn't really thinking about the bars too much, tho it was def more comfortable, no more stretching forward and my head was now just above the deflected/dirty wind the standard screen produces and it was so much quieter at 60/70mph! That was something of a bonus! I'm off out on it tomorrow, will update properly then, try out some twisties too

Yeh the smooth air is a real bonus. No more wind buffeting your head about. That's one of the reasons I changed to naked. You'll need to upgrade to full bars soon

Ah i'm sure i'll resist , i had a 1200 Bandit(non-faired aka naked) before this and the wind hitting you at 80 was nuts, even with a mini givi fairing on. Traded that bike in for this!

p.s. i calmed down the GIF a little, it was kinda trippy at that speed!

A couple of inches can make all the difference.
