In the last few days I've noticed a weird noise on the right side of my lid and it's bugging me, no idea what's causing it. You know that electrical noise you get when there's a dodgy connection? A sort of zzzzzt zzt zzt zzzt zzzzt and it's constant, blimmin' annoying!
I've checked the outside of the helmet but nothing to see there, could something be stuck in the vent? I'm in the market for a new one really anyway but would just like to know what's causing the buzzing. It's a KBC VR-1X if that helps. ![]() |

Sounds like a wee beastie in the vent.
Does happen from time to time and I've had a warranty claim with nolan over the damage caused by a wasp

Well it can't still be alive surely, 4 days later? Can't hear it when I'm not moving, is it going to be stuck in such a way that the wings are vibrating together to cause the buzz?

On my schuberth you can take off the whole vent plastics to clean it all out. Maybe yours does the same? Takes quite a bit of force to take them off. Could be a bit of loose plastic from the mould rattling about in there. I've had that before

Doubt my KBC is quite so sophisticated as that Darren...maybe not a good idea for me to start tugging at bits in the hope they come off when they're not meant to lol

Get some masking tape and cover one vent at a time.
Also check the visor is still snug to its seal.

I had wondered if it might be something to do with the visor, it's been changed a lot recently what with having to switch between gorgeous sunny evenings and bug infested nights haha. Will check that out, cheers Ntec
