Default New bike - what would you do...?

Bought a brand new 125 which is currently in the showroom and ready to go.

As long as it remains dry, would you ride the bike home despite the roads being covered in salt, or........

would you wait until the roads are free from salt after heavy rain and dry (could be a while), or.......

would you cover the bike in Scotoiler F365 (or similar) and ride the bike home in the first scenario?

What would you do?

Me? I'd ride it home and just make sure to give it a good clean when I got back, OR book it into All Year Biker and get it coated in ACF50

It's a bike. Ride it! Seriously, 1 ride in salt isn't going to corrode anything noticeably, especially if you give it a hose down when you get home.

This level of paranoia is no fun! How can you enjoy a bike if you won't even ride it home for fear of it losing its showroom shine?

Take some acf50 and cover the front of the engine first, or ride it home, give it a good hose down and cover in acf. Unless it is a Chinese 125, it wont fall apart at the sight of salt!

It's also a work of art and a pleasure to own and admire.

Make, model, picture - all irrelevant.

It's the principle I'm interested in.

I also have a superbike which I hardly ever ride. Just love looking at it when I remove the cover and take it out the garage. There's not a speck of dust on it!

It's a bit like having a bottle of whisky from the Titanic. Would you actually want to open it?
