Hi just replaced oil and filter (kandn)on sv1000n k3 with new filter apparently it's around 2.9 litres of oil I've used silkoline 10w40,now I used a level on my bikes seat to ensure bike was level whilst filling I drained it for around 2 hours tilting the bike etc to ensure all ****es out, however when I filled the oil back up again I used prob around 3.3 litres of oil until my oil level showed full,my concern is that if my oils supposed to be 2.7-2.9 litres with filter why didnt it show full on my level gauge I started the bike too to ensure all oil reached critical areas and when cold oil still show in level area.do I go with capacities or the level sight glass thanks

K3N takes 2.7l It should be stamped on the engine casing next to the sight glass.
Did mine today, filled to F on sight glass, then started the bike and it dropped a little while it filled the filter etc. Then checked after it had stood for 10 mins, topped back up to F and took it for a quick ride and it didn't move. It takes different volumes depending on whether you've replaced the filter, and will take even more if you've actually rebuilt the engine. I've always gone by sight glass on mine. You fill to the F, NOT to the top of the sight glass.

Did you fill to the F when the bike was upright?

Yes I propped up the side stand and put a level on the seat to ensure it was sat dead centre,so I let my bike cool to around 37 degrees and oil sat at f mark while level just checking to see if that's ok lol
