Today on the A470 coming back from Wales an accident unfolded right in front of us. Biker coming the other way clipped his riding buddy and then into the truck in front of us.
We had to leave the road to avoid hitting him as he came down on our side of the road.
*fortunately* he only suffered a broken/fractured leg.
As it happened another driver further back was a paramedic so she took control. Had it been just me I would not have been quite so useful.
After today I'll be searching out one of these courses in my area.

Myself and a couple of orgers did this a few years ago in Reading.

There's a surprising amount you can do on the scene and it can make a big difference to the outcome, thoroughly thoroughly recommended.

Mine is just about to expire, so myself and my friend who did it together last time are looking for another to do. Thoroughly great course and well worth the time and effort. Thankfully I have never needed any of the skills I learned, but I would rather have them than not.

Did this a few weeks back and forgot to say. Was a good little course, mostly common sense but it puts it all into perspective and makes you think about it. I already knew some first aid but it was good to brush up on it for free, but the main skill learnt for mewas taking off helmets safely which may become invaluble if i ever need it. Defo recommend it, good chance to meet a dozen bikers too.
