Default Uninsured driver.

Wife had here car hit by some **** earlier.
Seemed a bit sus as he said he could not remember who he was insured with so I got all his other details.
When I got home I checked his insurance on ask mid and it came back that the car is uninsured

Not a great deal of damage to her car but that's far from the point.
We went to our local rozzas the police woman checked and confirmed that there is no insurance showing on that vehicle but that his name and address are all correct so now I have to ring him until Tuesday once a day she said.

If I have had no insurance details from him by then we have to go back to her and she will ring him if still no answer she will report this to traffic who will go and seize the car take him to court he will get 6 points and up to a £800 fine but we will have to repair the car ourselves or claim off our insurance as she is fully comp.
The annoying thing is I was right loosing my rag with him and had to tell him to walk away or I was gona batter him wish I had now.....

Why are the police waiting? What's gonna change ffs? Insurance is suddenly gonna appear? He was allegedly driving without insurance, they should be straight round there and verifying if HE has any insurance and if not they should be seizing that vehicle, by delaying he can sell that car then they can't seize it.

Providing it is not your wives fault by all means claim on your insurance and let them fight it out, that is what you pay for. Should it be that the other vehicle is not insured this is why all insurance companies contribute to an uninsured driver fund which they can claim from, resulting in them getting all costs refunded and your wife retaining her NCB.

My wife was involved with a crash with an uninsured driver. They paid out for her bike repairs then I think they claimed it back from some uninsured drivers fund they had at the time. Not sure what action was taken against the other driver. Not sure he even had a license.

Good chance he'll deny being there. Did you get any pics of him and his vehicle at the scene or any witnesses? Police are doing you a favour by doing nowt just now. If they go to see him they'll need him to confirm he's been using the vehicle. If he denies it then he won't be getting any points. Once he's lied to the police he'll need to stick to that story.

I'd contact him and request either his insurance details or the cash to fix the car within 24hrs. If he doesn't come up with either you'll be reporting him to the police (don't tell him you've already done it or you'll back him into a corner).
