Evening all....
Decided to dig out my K4 race race bike and recomission it as its been parked up a long long time. Anyway the problem is as follows. Bike turns over and over and over......but wont start. Fuel pump is working and I have C00 and C29 codes when I flash them up. I always had the C29 due to the fact that I run bored out TBs and have no secondary gear present, never an issue ever. Fuel pump primes and bike just keeps turning over. Fuel shooting out the tank outlet pipe when disconnected from the TBs. All my instincts are telling me its the Power Commander. When the igniton is switched on and the pump primes the PC does its Knight Rider routine but when the pump is primed the PC has no light present. The Dynojet site says the following which I tried...bear in mind I never had an issue with this before Most Power Commanders are powered by the injectors on the bike. When you turn the key on, the fuel pump gets power and primes the fuel circuit. When this happens, the injectors get power, and the Power Commander also gets power and lights up. After a few moments, the fuel pump has pressurized the system, and usually shuts off. If the fuel pump shuts off, the injectors’ loose power, and the Power Commander shuts off. If you attempt to start the bike when the Power Commander is off, the bike may take longer to start than normal, until the fuel pump comes back on. The fuel pump may come on instantly, after a few engine revolutions, or on some bikes seemingly not at all. If the fuel pump does not come on, the bike will not start. We recommend starting the bike once you turn the key on. Do not wait for the fuel pump to shut off, or a check engine light to go out. So here I am none the wiser. Any help greatly appreciated ![]() ![]() |

UPDATE:
Today I hooked up the laptop to the PC and I got the "device not communicating" error. Quick call to my mates house and picked up the 9V supply module for the PC and up she loaded with the correct map in place and the green light staying on at the PC unit. I thought this is it and proceeded to fire it up and.....nothing. Situtaion now after a bit of digging is I am getting no spark and the plugs are bone dry so Im guessing I am getting no fuel either. The plot thickens. My next step will be to isolate the PC altogether and try fire it from there. Again any help greatly appreciated ![]() |

Can you unplug the PC and just run the normal ecu? If the bike fires up then at least you know where you're looking for a fault. While it sounds like this is one candidate, have you got a load of fresh fuel in the tank for when it does start playing ball?

The below thread was for a curvy, and I don't have a pointy wiring diagram to hand, but it may help http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=207546

Thanks jambo.....after searching around here i came across a thread where Zoran explained about the signal from the signal generator being needed to supply spark and injector voltage. I then traced a bad signal generator to loom connection and once i sorted this she fired first time. Everything sorted now

Glad you got it sorted. Race bikes don't have a whole lot of wiring to go wrong usually do at least there is less of it to go wrong!
