Default 2 bikes- 1 optimate?

Do you guys rekon that with a suitably modified connecting cable it would be ok to hook up 2 bikes to the optimate or am i maybe best alternating a single connection on a weekly basis or so?

Alternate them.Optimate say not to connect more than one battery to it at a time.I always found that you dont need to leave the bike hooked up all the time anyway, with just a regular top up quite enough to keep things ok.

Generally when connecting two batteries together in parallel they should be the same make capacity and age (obviously voltage ) so not likely with the two random batteries in the bikes.

The above makes sense thanks. I will stick with just the one.

Plus it halves the risk of tripping up over the effing thing!

Optimate now do a dual bank of their chargers. Unfortunately it's not possible to charge two batteries with one charger due to their electrical internals monitoring things. Doesn't like 24 volts.

That's a much easier and cheaper way to do it!! Spare leads are 8 quid or so!
