Has anybody got an image of the Alarm Connector or can confirm what it looks like? There is no 4 way plus a single way connector as shown in the Haynes manual.
I am removing the Datatool System 3 as it had become defective. I believe that the installer for the original owner, a Suzuki dealer, may have cut it off and joined the cable ends to the System 3 cables. If not then the connector may have been changed that does sometimes happen prior to production. |

It is just a simple square white connector - sorry no pics of when I removed my alarm.
However I do believe some alarm fitters bypass this by removing it. Have you traced the alarm wires to the loom yet? Most of mine went to the connector with a couple going to the starter relay etc. Good Luck.

Hi,
Had major issues with a datatool after buying an SV after it had been standing for 18 months - I think it's onboard battery crapped out and relay contacts where iffy. Anyway, if you search online there's a short crib sheet about bridging the bike side connector (after removing from Datatool) I think it was the two outside holes both ends of the connector. I used ambit of 2.5mm wire and jammed it in been fine for three years now. Keep the datatool in place and the keyfob on your keyring. Insurance company can't prove 'theives' didñ't do the mod and nick your bike and why would you remove a keyfob from a working system??? I recommend you leave wiring in place Cheers |

Chances are the previous installer removed the connector. I was able to rebuild that part of the circuit by matching the wire colours. Alarm was removed and wiring tinned, soldered and waterproof shrink sleeved.

I was able to trace all of the cables, however the 4 way and single way of the alarm connector had indeed been cut off. Unfortunately for me, but done on purpose to make it difficult to trace, these are all black. As I stated these have now been traced and marked up accordingly.
Referring to the Datatool System 3 there is a link internally to remove the internal battery from the circuit when required such as when de-spiking. I tested that as well as removing the bike battery and went through the re-initialise procedure to see whether it is spiked. Datatool themselves say that if the internal battery has had it then the whole alarm needs replacing, however that is probably as the battery is supposed to be non replaceable. Anyway the system 3 is completely off the bike now. Thanks to all who offered advise. |

Yup also had big woes with a Datatool System 3.
Once I'd disconnected it, I disassembled it and it's quite possible to replace the battery on it. However there's no way I'm putting it back.

I took great pleasure disassembling mine - with a claw hammer.
I too had no intention of it ever breathing again.
