Clean the calipers thouroughly, tooth brush style. Make sue they are not frezzing cold, let the paint dry near a radiator or similar. Its good stuff. The destructions with the stuff used to be very good.

You should get, cleaner, paint, lacquer(i think) brush and a cup.

Cheers Ian, it's a car set so should do 4 callipers I reckon, that's both the SV and the Triple( got a spare set for the Triumph from my previous bike so they're cleaned up already).

Oh, knowing me with in the next couple of weeks or so,but I'll probabley hold off on the pics until I can re-spray the wheels on the triumph, although doing the SV ones could be before that.

I'll try to get pics posted when done.

Cheers Mark.

BNQ do "JapLac Metallic Gold" for £3.22 for 125ML. I've been doing my rear caliper and the stuff is excellent. It takes at least 6 hours to touch dry but is really tough and a great colour. Can be found next to hammerite.

I used the Foliatec stuff, I found the lacquer dries annoyingly quickly once mixed but other than that it's easy to work with and gives a good finish. Very brake fluid resistant, to my surprise, I'm a messy bleeder so to speak, but they're still fine. I've managed to chip one caliper but it took some effort, and it patches pretty easy...

Finish is as good as you are with a brush, but I couldn't find anything that'll clean the brushes after use so you might want to pick up a couple of cheap ones...

All depends on what you use for a top coat, a thick cating of Knockhill graveltrap seems to work on mine This is the only closeup I've got, but does show a) how good the finish is and b) how tough it is!

Andrew, I've heard bad things about the Japlac stuff reacting to brake fluid, so careful!
