Hi,

What''s the best and/or cheapest way to get a great shine on the exhaust and forks etc. ???

Hey Alex,

I guess it depends on the metals in question.

If we are talking alloys, wet and dry paper start with a medium paper working up to a finer and finer paper and finishing with a polishing compound like G3.

Just remember the more time you spend the better the results.

The only downsides of doing this are A) You will need to redo it on a regular basis and B) You will end up doing it all

Sorry but unless the areas in question are badly corroded I would not entertain abrasive paper at all! A polishing compound and a touch of elbow grease should be more than enough.

Most cast aluminium is usually pitted and if you wanted to polish it you would normally want to remove the pit marks.

I've done this on loads of aluminum parts on cars, rocker covers etc.

find alocal polisher.. both fork lower legs cost me £30.. no elbow grease required other than to strip the forks down...

errr yes....


the benifits were great though... forks in terrible state + £30 = Lovely Forks...

added to that i dont have the time or equipment it was really really worth it..
