Cool Wheel Rim Tape - Yes Or No???

A nice light-hearted topic and a simple question really.

My brother thinks its for tarts...but then he rides a naked Bandit 12...

Me - well I am a tart and I like shiny things.

Should it be a complementary colour (ie blue on a blue machine) or a contrasting colour (saw a blue/white Gixxer with yellow tape on yesterday)

Is it just a little too tarty for an SV? Does it belong solely on supersports machines?

Oh, that sort of rim tape! I was wondering why you asking about rim tapes as they're generally used on spoked wheels to stop the spoke ends chafing the inner tube.

I'm with your brother, but you also do acknowledge that you are a tart.

However, if you go ahead, and come to the AR, expect some serious P taking.

minifun, that looks wrong, seriously. All you need to do is add some yellow ELwire around the frame, and you'll have your very own "special" tron bike!

SoulKiss, you know you want to, but dont, no, seriously, don't!

I think I saw red rim tape on a V-Rod at the Irish Bike Show -- looked naff.

Some bikes its good; other bikes its bad. Generally I say NO, but it can look good if done right and kept clean.

(My style opinions should be taken w/a big pinch of salt: I also don't like high-level exhausts or any sort of fairing lowers for SVs or TLs.)
