Default Slow leak, another Puncture Question.

I have a slow leak in my rear Z1 Metzler. As I don't want a tyre full of mushrooms, can anyone recomend any type of goop to put into the tyre to safely and permanantly stop the leak. I think it's a tiny hole from a brass tack. Ive seen stuff in a pressurised can but it said on the back that it was only a temporary repair ant that you should not exceed 40MPH until repaired! Is this for real or just limiting their liability?

Seems to be a lot of punctures about lately !!! I had one last week at 90mph, 36psi to flat in 1 second... scary !!!

Anyways, once on the hard shoulder i was chuffed with myself that i was carrying the 'Holt's Tyre Repair' stuff under my seat so wouldn't have to wait for a lift home from Mr. Breakdown guy. Yeah right !!! It was only a little nail about 2mm in diameter, i followed the instructions only to find the stuff pouring out of the hole and leaving me with an empty can of Holt's tyre repair and still a flat tyre !!! So i wouldn't use the stuff personally. When collected by the breakdown guy he said he wouldn't bother with the stuff, he said it works about 45% of the time.... having said that, maybe for £6 a can it's worth it just in case you're the one it works for.

I've repaired two tyres with the holts stuff. It failed on the third though.

Its not designed as a permenant repair though so thats not going to help you out.

If you dont want it full of plugs then I dont know what else you could do apart from replace the tyre. I have heard of other people use some stuff called "ultraseal" but I dont know if that would do the trick.

Take your bike to a tyre place and ask them what they recommend. Dont chance it get some proper advice.

i took mine to the tyre place, £8 and he repaired it professionally and did a very good job, the thing is ultraseal is ok sometimes but if it doesnt work like me last time, then you cant plug it, i would go and get it plugged due to the fact that eventually you will replace the tyre, but if we all replaced a tyre every time we got a puncture we would be broke, (4 punctures in one year, poxy landlord and roof fitters)
