Default Wets

What size 'wets' do people use on SVs (minitwins)??

I have some part worn wets I could use, but the rear is a 165!

p.s. I am doing Cadders on Tuseday, the forcast is for rain!!

Rain, eh?

Might turn out to be a waste of £89 or a whole lot more expensive.

Bloody British weather!

Rain? Why are people scared of riding in the rain! Perfect opertunity to get smoothed up on your riding, as your forced too (unless your leon haslam - how hard was he chucking that duke about at croft pushing for the win?!).

Not sure about sizes though mate, sorry! Have you googled for answers?

a wet trackday is proberly a lot of fun overall, you will get smoothly does it idea better and then when you go in the dry you will be far smoother and go so much faster!

I don’t recall saying that I didn’t want it to rain …

But on a trackday it can put a downer on things … that is unless you have the correct tyres!! Hence me wanting to sort out a set of wets.

If I have them sorted then it’ll be dry all day … if I don’t have any then it will lash it down!!! That is the law of sod!!

Andyaikido - the weather is so changeable at the moment that I doubt it will rain all day, might impede a session or two, but I doubt it will be set in (famous last words ). It might not rain at all!!

My ideal trackday would be Dry 2/3 of the day, a coupla wet sessions* then dry to packup and go home

*As long as I had wets

Oh and the forecast is for ‘light rain’ if this is the case, then having treaded road tyres is the best choice (and presumably what you will have?). I will either have wets or supercorsa’s if it is anything other than proper wet I will be out on the supercorsas coz the wets will fry. So in ‘light rain’ you will be in a better stance tyre wise than me as the supercorsas have no tread on the edges!!

Chances are that it will be dry with the odd light shower, the track grip will not be greatly impeded by this and it will dry in no time (especially on the racing line).

So in summery I am hoping for extreme conditions, light rain will spoil my day a bit.

That said, whatever the conditions I will still be going out, I will just ride accordingly

I don't know if it's any help to you but my (curvey) minitwin came with wets on wheels and the sizes are:

160/620R17
120/70R17

I haven't raced the bike yet or spent any real time in the paddock so I couldn't tell you if people use any other sizes.

Cheers
Tony
