Default Dragging brakes after front tire change

I took the front wheel off today and had my local shop mount and balance a new front tire for me. When i put the wheel back on, the front brakes a dragging a little. I think only the right side is dragging, but i'm not sure...... Anyone know why its doing this? The dragging is minor and goes away after you ride the bike for a bit and dont use the front brakes. Its a 2000 unfaired version. Any info will be apppreciated

Get your manual out and make sure you've put them back correctly.

Ive checked my owners manual and my clymer manual..... It is dragging all the time, not just after front brake use like i originally thought. I think it may be an issue with the spacer that goes in the right fork leg. Im gonna check it out after work

i would say take the front apart again, take all the bits out and sit there with the manual and check it all out, its proberly a little **** up with a washer in wrong place but you dont want the wheel falling off.

check everything over, then creep the caliper pistons out a little and clean them up carefully, there's tons of advice on this if you do a search.

I took the brakes off today and inspected them. I know they are all clean because i just replaced the pads last week. I noticed that the brake pads themselves are not dragging. It is actually a part of the caliper that is hitting the disc. Im going to try pulling on the fork and then tightening the screws that hold the axel in place

Something's gone back together wrong there. Are you sure the spacer and speedo drives are right?Or are your fork bottoms twisted so that the caliper mounts are out of true?

Everything is in correctly, except for possibly the spacer that goes into the right fork; it is sticking out about a quarter to half inch..... If the fork bottoms were twisted the axel would not go in, right??? How can i tell if the forks are twisted?

^^

I had your problem, brakes were dragging on right hand side. Took wheel off and refitted, making sure the spindle went all the way through this time. And it did and alas, no dragging. Must have been the spacer at fault. Do it.

I fixed it! It was the spacer at fault. If anyone else has this problem, I had to use a pry bar to move the fork over so the spacer will be flush with the edge of the fork on the right side
