how do you lube the chain with an arosol???
on my trials bike you just lift the back wheel off the floor & spin not that simple on the sv so whats the best way to ensure the whole chain is oiled? |

Pull the rear up against the side stand and spin with your foot. Or use a paddock stand.

same as a trials bike then? i did not think the back wheel would lift or too much weight on side stand
i have got a paddock stand, but dont fancy doing it on my own, in case the bike falls......or is it easy? ![]() |

Get someone to hold the bike for a couple of times first so you get the hang of it, but then it's easy and you can do it on your own.

You still have the grap rail on your bike so hold ith there.
Easy to balance. Put the bike on the paddock stand, > start bike > put it in first gear > spray. |

You're saying have the bike running? Sounds like a very bad idea! Stick it neutral and just spin the wheel with your hand!
Otherwise you could end up like that chap who lost part of his thumb trying to clean his chain with the bike running. |

well I have a scotoiler. But an old Fox on here does it the way I described.
Seems to be the next easiest method to a scotoiler/lubeman. |

I spray my chain with the bike in 1st gear, but I will only do it with the long straw spray thingy that comes with the can so my hand's a good distance away.
I also have a sheet of cardboard that I hold between the chain and the wheel to stop any lube getting on my wheel/tyre. |

Personally.
Put bike on side stand. Spary the visible portion of the underside of the chain Move the bike forward. Spray a bit more. Repeat until the whole chain is lubed Important: 1. spray after the bike has been running so it's nive & warm - makes it easier for the oil to get in all nooks/crannies 2. Spray the bottom of hte chain & move the bike forward each time so it gets all over hte sprocket. 3. Do it on someone else's driveway so that you don't care about the stains on yours. |
