kawaski el252 for free

Does any one want a 97 kawasaki el252/el250-f2? I blew up the big end on it about a year ago and its just been sitting round the side of my parents house so I figure if anyone has the knowledge to get it back on the road then they can have it. Obviously with a bust engine its going to need a trailer/van to pick it up and its located in chesham bois, bucks. Its not mint, its been down the road once, has a small dent in the tank and a big scrape in the exhaust but the tires are almost brand new.

i as hoping it was going to look slightely different (as i never heard of the el) i must as but how did you bow it??? those style bikes are really really lazy. i would have it off of you but have no van to pick it up.

i just reved it way too hard on a day which was too hot without it having enough oil in it. I was going up the wendover bypass and was seeing what it would top out at and it just went bang. If you can move it you can have it, i just thought someone might fancy it otherwise its going to the dump.

u got the V5 etc????

Where abouts is Bucks? Ide be very interested if I can persuade my dad to drive me there with a trailer.

So whats it need then? A complete rebuild? If I had a van I'd take it myself and take it apart to see how engines worked and see if a lay person like me could make it run again. Anyone going past bucks up to Teesside in an empty van who wants to pick it up for me?

As i say in the original post i have the v5 and all its service history. I got this bike when i was 16 and didnt ride it till i passed my test at 17, after that i used it daily till i blew it up a year ago so i rode it for 5 years. It was mainly used to short hops, no long distance stuff as it really suffered on motorways and just wasnt happy crusing at 80ish.

also as stated in the original post it is in Chesham Bois in Bucks. Thats between Amersham (which is a fairly major and well signposted town) and Chesham.

probably a complete rebuild would be a good idea. other than that i believe it is sound aside from a spot of rust being an all weather rider who doesnt like cleaning they tend to end up less than beautifull.

so anyone actually want this or should i just chuck it?

Shoe-horn your TL engine into it. I'm sure the brakes/frame will cope just fine

Shove it on ebay mate...start at £20 to cover your costs...might get a few De Niro's for it.
