Any more ideas for lids around £200 (plus a few for dark visor and pinlocks etc.)
Chris

Will try some on but would have to be a very good fit, I'm not too keen on the visor mechanism, also seems like I'd be paying more for the name.

Chris you are either an Arai head or you're not. They tend to be fitted best for slim heads while larger faces are more suited to the Shoei. Ive got a Raid II at the moment and its great but after trying an Arai on, i realise im an Arai fit rather than a Shoei fit. If I would sell my Shoei but helmets just dont make any money 2nd hand.

I have a Shoei XR1000 with pin lock which is great for dealing with the mist problem, but may want to consider the noise aspect if you're thinking about Shoei. I've found mine really noisey and often wondered if it's just me as I haven't worn any others to compare against. but found this link.. http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...t=xr1000+noise Looks like other people might be finding the SHoei noisey too ![]() |

I've got the entry level Arai, after wasting money on about three cheaper ones. Fits like a glove, and that's what sold me. It was £199.00, at Hein Gericke, and we asked for a discount and he gave us the pinlock visor (£15) for nothing.
I love my helmet. |

Yeah, I have an XR1000, its noisey as hell, really starting to **** me off to the point I'm thinking about changing it.
Its a good helmet though, no doubt about that. The shoei head, Arai head talk is now myth, every bike shop i have been into recently has been saying so....The best way is to try them on in the shop for a good 15 minutes each. |

Arai, Arai are the best mine fits really well and I love it.....but I did try almost every lid going before I paid for mine, I got the RX7 casue it was sale, so worth the money.....look at this way, you have one head, can you put a cost on it? At the end of the day, buy the lid that fits you best, no point spending £500 on lid that doesn't fit is there!
I would go somewhere like J&S and try every lid on in the store! Then you will know! As its goes my Shark is is a small, my arai is an Xtra small! |
