Hi,
My SV650k3 is behaving a tad strangely after i changed the engine a couple of months back. ![]() ![]() The coolant is fresh, topped up and i've got rid of any air in the system as far as i can tell. There are no FI light's appearing on the dash telling me there's a sensor prob, though as it's a bit odd im not convinced. I'd like to get this sorted as i'm a bit concerned about engine life and the gearbox is really stiff especially trying to find neutral. Has anyone come across this before on this or any other bike. Thanks for your help!! ![]() ![]() Mark |

This is normal mate, the cooland flows round in cycles as far as I am led to believe.

Yeah, I have seen a few posts like this pop up on the forums and the general consensus everytime is that its fairly normal behaviour.

Sounds like its all ok - as long as the gauge is working, and isnt showing the bike to be running at 120 deg.C, then its all good.
My temp gauge often plays at being the rev counter; with each gear change (going up through the gears) the needle dips from 80 to 40 then back up Mind you, its wired up shoddy. Its not even the original gauge. Did 1999 curvys even come fitted with a temp gauge?! Matt |

hi mate, thanks, but my old engine temp never went over 70 with no such up and down readings.
![]() surely this will cause premature damage and be down on power at these temp's??? looking like i'll be out again in the minitwins next season and could really do without the hassle i had this year ![]() |

Fluctuation between 80 - 90 is fine. |

my sk3 was always in the 90's, early 100's in traffic.

That'll be the thermostat opening (when too hot) and closing (too cool) the radiator loop.
pear-fect-ly normal |
