I use Goodridge on my race bike too and never had any problems with them. Good value too. You wont notice a massive difference but it is there. Maybe worth getting a new set of pads too, for the full effect?

"race setup" means 2 lines... which is better overall than the splitter used as standard.
The best set of curvy rubber brake lines are 6 years old, they aren't meant to last so long. Stripping and cleaning the calipers can be helpful too...

I have just replaced the front pads new and the rear has plenty of life left in them...... thats why i went with these as my old pads on the right were down to the metal almost and the left hand did still have some left in them. Excellent price to.
Also i did strip down the calipers and give them a good clean but for the back i may just spray them with brake cleaner. Thanks Ash |

Bad idea. Brake cleaner is a solvent and solvents on rubber seals aren't good. It's the corrosion behind the seals that you're trying to get cleaned out, not just the brake dust!

If you're changing the lines anyway then you might as well clean the caliper properly. The rear's really exposed on the SV, and the pins tend to corrode in which is a pain so it's worth doing a bit of preventative medicine.
Brake cleaner should be safe on brake seals, but it won't really do much either, very overrated stuff tbh.

Had a set of goodridge hoses fitted up front the other day and love it, those 7 year old hoses were squidgey! You'll notice the difference, I'm sure changing the 7 year old brake fluid helped too.......

As previously mentioned, give the calipers a good clean and service and put some new pads in there too! Why go to the hassle of fitting new lines when you have crappy calipers and old pads!
