Default Nurburgring Exclusive Bike day

I have the chance of doing the Nurburgring on a closed day for about 150 bikes.
It's Monday 1st November for £150.
Does it sound like a good idea I should go for?

Will be sharing the track with other IAM types

To right, tell me more. Who's arranging it and what's the score. Does that £150 give you as many laps as you want or is it "organized"?

That's great value, I presume it's with a group from the area with the river that runs through the capital?

The only issue is the weather up there at that time of year, which can be a gamble, hence the superbly cheap price.

I know a couple of guys who helped out at the last day with instruction and they said it went really well and were surprised by the pace, I think they were expecting a few more pipe and slippers types!

yeah that one although you were nearly too obscure for me to figure it out. They've given 10 places to their neighbours, so sorry RH if your names noon the door you're not getting in

yup It was earlier last year in October - so what is the deal likely to be? If it's wet I guess it will still be on and you'll just have to deal with it - can't think that the weather would close the track at that time of year? - would that mean a refund or just tough?

Actually, after writing the above, I've read the booking form and it's a little different i.e. deposit is a little less than £150 but top up makes it £209 + £40 crossing + Hotel etc. etc.
but it is offered to 'local iam groups' so if you qualify as an associate upwards tell me your email address, I'll forward it to you and you can make an approach if you're still interested.

I think I just about qualify..... but I was never any good at crosswords!
I've checked the TVAM and LAM sites but can't see it advertised, I take it there isn't a link to the form?

I've done a 'Ring course in the rain/damp, it is then all done at a slow pace due to the slippy nature of the track, but is still very useful for learning the lines round various corners. This would be useful if you plan on returning, but a bit pointless if this is going to be your one and only trip to the 'Ring.

The main reasons they'd shut the track would be snow, ice or fog. No idea if the track was shut what the refund would be...

The TVAM lot don't advertise it on the website as it's only available to members. Last year was the first year and apparently we are the only bike group EVER to have exclusive use of the ring. The trip last year was on the same dates and they had great weather.

Obviously the weather is a bit of a gamble but just about everyone who went last time is going this time (apart from those with no money) hence only a few of the WVAM lot got invited this year.

Obviously being an IAM trip it will be carried out at 30mph in hi-viz and riding boring tourers. Or at least that is how it will be presented by certain elements of the forum.

Stu, why not pop along to TVAM on Sunday, I'll introduce you to some of the folks who went last year and you can see how a real club does it

I'll make sure there's a toasted muffin and somewhere to park your slippers if ever you fancy a visit.
