Default Confused and a bit dissapointed?

Last night riding home from work approaching a set of traffic lights at red with a queue of cars. I check behind theres a bike approching slowly about 100 yards away I indicate and pull out to filter past the stationary cars at my usual 15 mph. The bike behind catches me up and is revving his engine impatiently behind me, his exhaust was much louder than the one on my SV, there's room to my right if he wants to pass. As I approach the lights they change to green and I slip back into a gap the line of cars and pull over to leave room for the other bike and give him room to pass. A normal manouver for most of us I would think, not illegal or dangerous, I don't think I could have been more considerate while maintaining my own progress and caused none of the car drivers a problem. As the biker passes me I raise my hand in aknowledgement and in return I get two fingers from him........... wtf!

I make no apologies that I have left this bit until last, I was riding a push bike, I'm used to abuse being shouted from cars for no reason (usually little t**ts in Corsas) but a biker am I missing something?

Some people are just gits! Face it, you met one.

Have a hug from a former cyclist.

Oh yes there's gits out there... On my cycle to work it's someone on a bike who want's to use the cycle lane to filter faster than I'm pedaling.

Ah, you made the old assumption that somebody would be a decent bloke, just because they ride a motorcycle. Bikers can be rsssholes too!

Yup, sounds like you did the right thing. Lets face it, not everybody is a member of SV650.org

15 mph on tyres as wide as my thumb .
Got to face it some bods are a bit rude and jumping on a bike don't alter that .

Hellooooooo

I was never a big fan of cyclists, but working in Cambridge now has totally reinforced my utter dislike of them. Just the other day I was turning into the shop's bike park and a cyclist came hell for leather down the pavement towards me. Bear in mind she wasn't visible as I started my manouver, she then darted in front of me whilst all the time shouting obscenities. I had to brake pretty hard to avoid a collision and as I did so I gave her a mouthful back - unfortunately, even though I heard all she said (and I'm sorry medear, but I can prove my parentage and their marital status at the time I was born) all she would have heard from me would have been something along the lines of "Mffmllmmmffff furrrrcmmmfffing biiittmmmmmffffffch" because I had a fleecy balaclava on under my helmet.

I can only agree with you on this, you met a git of a cyclist just as I met a git of a biker.

My point is minority road users seem to be prejudged based on the behavior of the worst and not of the individual, as far as I'm concerened in this instance this act was prejudice against the type of vehicle I had chosen to use that day rather than the quality of my manouver, if I had been riding my SV I doubt the hand signal from the biker would have have been the same.
