A bit shocked to find a friend's SV650 uses a 120/60 profile front, which appears to the correct OE size.
I assumed it was wrong and it should be a 120/70. I once tried a 120/60 on the front of a CBR I owned, and it kept tucking. R6 owners also used to report bad handling with the 120/60, the bikes were improved with 120/70. So, has anyone gone 120/70 and noticed an improvement on the SV?? What about 70 profile on the back too?? |

I prefer the 120/70 front tyre, feels more stable but slightly slower turning in but next to nothing in it, you soon get used to it. I think it feels better and also rides nicer over small bumps - feels good to me on long fast bends.
Cant comment on the rear but not sure if you'd get a larger profile on it without it touching the swingarm, thats just a guess might be completely fine. Last edited by Markos_46; 22-02-16 at 03:37 PM. |

suzuki men in white coats know best. dont compare an SV with a SS bike as they have completely different geometry. i use the standard profiles and my bike handles just fine.

Ran a 70 front and it was not my cup of tea. The 60 front is far better Sent from my E2303 using Tapatalk

There are a few 70 or 60 pros and cons threads on here, did you read them? I think it's a matter of taste based on your riding style, speed, use and location.
I went from 60 to 70 on a small go-cart track we train on(Norway, it's an 8 hour drive to the closest big track from where I live). It's a track I know very well, and I went faster on the 70, and it felt more stable on the slow bumby bits. You get a bigger contact patch in corners. There is also a bigger choice in rubber when you go big. I found another thread, and there is a fast minitwin rider commenting on the tires Quote:
