My dad is thinking of buying a Yamaha XJR1300, does anyone know the differences between the XJR1300 and the XJR1300SP apart from the Ohlins suspension and the colour scheme. The bike he has seen is a 2002 model.
I have had a quick look for a busy forum for the XJR's but i cannot see one, and Google aint much help either, so i thought id ask you guys Cheers SPeeeeDY |

I don't think there is any other difference, certainly no extra power or loss of weight.
Good bikes if you like that sort of thing, though getting a little long in the tooth now. . |

XJRs are good fun, of the bikes that ape the style of the late '70s UJM, they probably are the most convincing looks wise, and they probably feel and ride the closest to their ancestors too, just about all of the competition rides better, although it must be said that the GSX1400 is a big fat whale of a motorbike, (although I kinda like it
![]() ![]() The Kawasaki is the best one of these '70s throwbacks, it's not a modern bike that looks like an old one though, but it's then one that feels the most developed, haven't ridden a new CB-Enormous yet though.
