Hi,
newbie, I know so forgive me. I have what says on paperwork a K4. However I am having great difficulty getting the correct gear lever (shifter). Mine has the number 23 stamped on it. I have already got 2 other gear levers but no joy. One has 24 and is close but not right. The other I reckon is from a K4 after much web searching. Can anyone shed any light, does anyone have the same on their bike? Any help, greatly apreciated. Thanks. 04 reg SV650S |

Welcome to the madhouse.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. Has to be 2004 K3. Please see picture of mine (bottom) and a replacemnt I got. There is a plastic insert (brownish in colour) on the gear lever. |

Double checked and it does in fact say K3. The one I bought must be for a K4 has #17 on it.

Looks like you have a K3 footrest then. AFAIK they were around the footrest like the curvy. I think the K4's went to a smaller mounting bolt which was below and forward of the footrest.
This would be supported by the fact that your second gear lever is shorter and smaller in bore.
