Right me being a skint student and refusing to pay extortionate prices for printer cartridges bought a couple for £15, one seems fine but the ink in the other isn't coming out properly
![]() I've cleaned the contact dewberries (with nail polish remover) and tried drawing the ink out onto wet tissue paper (has worked for me in the past) but all I'm getting is a few spots...I've left the cartridge to stand in the printer for a couple of nights and that's not worked, I've shaken the cartridge up and although a bit more came out then, it hasn't managed by itself lol. Do I complain to the people I bought it from and request a refund? Do I leave it a bit longer? Do I just learn my lesson and realize I should've forked out more money in the first place? Your knowledge o wise orgers if you please ![]() Oh and they're NOT the original branded cartridges... |

Yes, but only after you've got your refund, they charged you 15 quid for something that doesn't do what it says on the box. |

I'd complain and ask for a refund/replacement
Doesn't matter if it's not the original branded it's still faulty

Does your printer have a head cleaning facility - if so run that lots.
Also printing page blocks of whatever colour it is can help sometimes hth |

Some cartidges have a breather hole on the top, try jamming a pin in this and making sure its clean and clear. I've had this problem with cheap cartridges before and this sorted it, for a while at least. Generally found cheap ones to not last very long anyway.

Hmm cheers guys. I paid £15 for the 2 cartridges, the colour one seems to be fine but the black is the one with problems.
I haven't run the printer head cleaning thing actually drummer, I've just remembered I meant to do that and clean forgot! (no jokes please ![]() |

You might have to run it lots with nozzle checks to see how it goes but eventually it usually clears for me, inkjets (assuming that's what you have) are a bit prone to clogging, probably even more so with cheapo inks *stamps on them* lol

Just run the head cleaning a few times and no luck, it's now not drawing ink through at all. Sent a complaint email to them, see what they say lol. Grrr, PITA.
