Default Curvy Scottoiler Fitting - Guide

My Scottoiler vSystem turned up last week. I bought it online through a reseller at £65.00 + p&p. The reseller did not supply an additional t-piece connector that's required on the SV650, I had to get that direct from Scottoiler.

The additional piece is free, but you do pay p&p. If you're considering buying a scottoiler, I'd get the 6mm t-piece connector ordered first - then you have it. I had to wait several days.

There's several posts and advice on where to put the oiler, however I couldn't find pictures for where to position it, so here's a simple extra (for the curvy), to supplement the guide supplied with the unit, the specific SV650 guide supplied on Scottoiler's website, and info already available on the .org.

I'm not saying this is the right way to do this, it's simply, the way I have done it.

Take off the plastic trim under the riders seat on the left hand side. Here you'll find two M6 threaded holes in the frame (highlighted red)

I've attached my bracket to the top of the two holes.

The picture below is the bracket I used - there's all sorts in the pack you get, that you'll keep for moving it to your next bike (if you're sensible).
To screw the threaded (highlighted red) part of the bracket on, you'll have to dismantle the assembly by undoing the nut and bolt (highlighted green) at each end.

With a bit of a fiddle, you get it on. It won't wobble off, but I couldn't get it to fasten tight at the right angle, so I daubed some blue (243) Loctite on the thread. Once dry, it won't rattle about.

Nice and snug.

I routed the delivery tube over and away from the chain and cable tied it to heel plate (not sure how long that'll last) to keep it up away from the chain.
(Tube highlighted red, cable tie green)

Down the the underside of the wing arm and along to deliver to the sprocket as per Scottoiler's instructions.

Default Re: Curvy Scottoiler Fitting

I fitted mine in the same place but I cable tied the tube to the frame where the subframe attaches, ran the tube down and fed it under the chain guard at the bottom, round the back then over the top just in front of the rear mudguard bracket to the delivery tube.

I also used the lower hole and despite it becoming a trackbike and taking the scottoiler off until this year still had the bracket there now because I couldn't get the screw out!

I mounted the delivery bit to the bracket off the rear axle, in hindsight I'd probably have done it a bit more like yours but with a bracket off the bobbin mounts too.
