Default Relays near fusebox on Curvy 2000

Hi,

I'm putting a trackbike together and I dont have the relays (near the fusebox in the tail). I have been told you can bypass them, what does this entail do I just short them out?

Thanks for any help.

You don't need them at all, they are for the indicators, neutral and side/clutch cutouts.

Personally I cut the fuse box off the relay connector and remounted it up near the pointy end.

You just have to short one wire, look in wiring diagram it is the one which supplies power to ignitor box and coils etc.

I'll be back in the garage tomorrow with more shiny bits to put on it if the postie hasn't lost yet another parcel (lost 2 in 2 weeks well done) so I'll have a look then.

Did you make the bracketry yourself for the clocks, I need something like that for mine?

How does the fairing connect onto all that?

And you seem to have a different master cylinder arrangement mine goes through a splitter, is yours a later model?

Cheers

Well it was an SV650 race fairing bracket from JHS, I don't have a particularly good picture of it by itself, this is just about the best I have.

I then made up a small bracket to attach to the steering damper mount which carries the CDI and fuse box.

The tacho (Elliot) and temp gauge (racetech) fit into holes cut into the foam, along with idiot lights for neutral and oil. I then made up a metal plate with a switch on for the ign (which I later turned sideways when I realised the fairing would turn it off automatically)

I can should I want also fit the original ign switch into the same space.

'Original' fairing fitted by fitting a metal plate to the mounting points for the parking light, with a hole in the middle which then a nylon cup bolts onto and over the 'prong' at the front of the bracket.
Again no decent pictures of that

Now though it has a GSXR600/750 fairing which has been cut and shut to fit and the prong has been cut down and the cup fits directly to the fairing.
You can just see the bolt for it a few inches down from the screen.

Then the fairing mounts to two bracket off the radiator mounts

A mount where the sidestand used to live

and a mount off the exhaust mounting

Y2K and while it is a TL1000R master cylinder its identical to the SV650S one, I just lost the splitter (plus the forks/yokes aren't original either).

When all together and in action it goes a little something like this

Hi

Are the forks GSXR 750/1000?

I'm going with a daytona front fairing as its narrower and a bit different.

Is the tail section you are using a GSXR K3 / K4?

Are you using the SV seat or a GSXR?

Ta

Forks are 'busa.

1000 never used that style caliper. (Also, 1000 is kayaba fork and different piston design (small ports) to the showa kit on the 600/750.)

Interestingly I think 'busa uses 25mm cartridge. Not sure as to pros, cons or why though.

Neat, make sure you put up pics

The GSXR one I think I ended up taking about 4 inches out of the bellypan and about two out of the section above the front wheel, this gives you an idea of how much a section I lost!

This is the belly pan after I chopped a section out, I then went and chopped *another* 2-3 inches out of it!

The GSXR fairing still sits a bit low, if you look straight on there's not much of a gap between mudguard and fairing.

GSXR600/750K5/6 seat unit/fairing, SV650 seat, SV650 race subframe. I used a metal plate attached to the back of the subframe, originally with the CDI there:

and a home made battery box

but then I changed to an SDS battery box

and moved the reg/rec to where the CDI was.

I think K8 has small orifice type pistons in fork. Maybe they would be better with gold valve or older showa pistons?
