Default Making the best out of Winter

Following my thread about some bizarre characteristics of my SK5 last week I am pleased to announce she is like a Tiger once again.

5 weeks of neglect, left outside, in all this rain with a half hearted cover meant she was running well but sometimes choking and cutting out when revved from standstill.

I replaced the 5 week old fuel and took her for a circa 100 mile burn within the last 24 hours and boy is she fit. Having just paid out around £250 for a service aswell I expect she should be. The service was donw early Oct before this weather but I left it standing outside for a long time.

I dont like getting it wet nor do I like riding in the wet, but today, I just got on here and rode like the clappers, clearing those pipes and circulating that oil. Quick hose down on return and covered again - not ideal but obviously what the bike needed.

Bring on summer - I want that dry and mild atmosphere to not have to keep going and cleaning / checking etc...

How do you do yours, in Winter?

I'm glad to hear your bike is running well again I have been having alot of fun riding in this weather; the heavy heavy rain has just been funny (riding home at night in rain so heavy I cant see were I'm really going and poodling along at 20 mph), the slightly damp roads of the morning havn't bothered me (avon storms, i love them!) and cooler, crisper air (when it isnt wet) has made my engine more responsive (carbs, woooo)

Summer is fun, but I dont like getting hot. Winter is better, but then I dont like hosing the bike down often (but at least it gets to look clean for 10 minutes). WHat I like about winter is than on my favorite roads to brighton, they dont become frequented by the sorts of riders who treat the roads like a racetrack. So I can set off early to brighton on a saturday morning and have a really nice ride with no real inturuptions from anyone

I wish my dad would come out more in the winter though
