Default Birmingham tower block info needed...

Howdie doodie from Snowy California
Wondering if anyone from the Birmingham area can help me out?
I'm looking for info on a Large Residential tower block in the Brum area, About 50 floors ish and it's not a recent building! Someone said it's visible from the M6 around the split for the M42? Ring any bells to anyone
Part of my job is installing gas pipework, not the daft wee copper stuff! We run above ground steel pipework on/through any building as required by the gas supply company, and the boss has been asked to quote for a tower block. Only bit that's bugging me, I can't find any info on any older BIG high rise down your way from the web. Largest i have info on is 39 floors but it was built in 06' so i doubt that it would need a full install done.
Any info would be great

Cheers, Rab.

theres 3 on the left side (going north) in the fort dunlop area.
Ill have a look and post up the screenshot.

Found them.

Googlemap search "Fort Dunlop" and then change to satellite picture and they are right opposite fort dunlop

Hope that helps.

Agreed. That sounds like the only place I can think off from the m6 too. I work 5 mins from the fort.

Cheers, Rab.

Beetham Tower is the tallest residential building in the birmingham area I believe. The next two are the two buildings that face it, Clydesdale and Cleveland towers which are pretty old (early 70's) followed by the orion building then the Rotunda (again pretty old but its not long been given a complete do-over so I doubt its that).

The only other building I can think of that you might need to do that sort of work in is the new Snow Hill tower which is going to be around 45 floors I think and that it still under construction.

Thanks for that, They look a bit more like the size i was trying to find

Could be fun dangling from the top of them on ropes Time to go do more digging at the boss to see if i can tie any of them in, he's being shy with info till he knows if we are doing the jobs.

Cheers, Rab.

I'm not sure those are the right ones mate. If you're talking about towers you can see from where the M6 splits to M42 then you're looking from miles away . There is a section of the M6 heading North just before (about a mile before) it splits off to M6 toll and M42 where you can see the Brum skyline. The only recognisable structure at that range unless you specifically know what you're looking for is the BT tower which isn't residential but is very tall. Can you check where precisely it is that you're supposed to be able to see it from?

Cheers,
Matt
