Default SV650s Curvy losing oil!

A friend of ours is having problems with their bike losing oil.

Basically the bike is fine running while standing for a short while, but then after it is turned off if left for a while then oil seems to be leaking.

Mr VT is suggesting that one of the crank case breather pipes may be blocked (he hasnt seen the bike yet) and the crank case is pressurising whilst running causing the oil to be forced out of one of the crank cases.

Has anyone else had anything similar and if so what was the cause?

Clean it and dust with talc.

The engine? This is to see where the oil's coming from isn't it? Im not taking the P, I'm being a bit dozy and have seen this advice several times suggesting it's good, and would like to be sure I'm right!

Yes. Where it leaks from can be traced by it leaving a trail in the talc.

Yes, typically it drips from the lowest point but that's not where it comes from! A good dusting of talk and you'll get a trail showing where the leak actually starts.
