Default 2006 r6...wow!

I had the chance to test ride one on Saturday and it has left me stunned! What an awesome bike!

Was taking it steady as it was on new tyres but the bike is amazing! It goes into corners and just wants to go faster through them. The induction sound and exhaust sound are amazing! Not the most comfortable thing but like that matters

Now I am intent on finding ways to get the funds to buy it - though I am pretty sure it is quite obtainable!

Anyone have any experience with them on a day to day basis (although I will be keeping the SV!)

be more interesting to know your frame of reference, compared to an SV of course it's got handling and speed, the Honda 600rr is a more neutral ride so arguably better and the 600 Kwak a more characterful engine, but compared to something of greater capacity they are all narrow banded lightweights of little to no advantage on the road

If however it's the only other bike you've ridden, then of course it's going to be fantastic to you.

Cheers Mark.

I know exactly how you feel, that was my first take on a sports 600 as well, and 4 yrs on I still think mine (GSX-R600 K6) is an awesome bike!

Don't forget the R6 is not the only one though, see if you can try some of the others before you buy as you may find another suits you better in terms of comfort/practicality (well as much as a sports bike can be practical!)/etc

I think your keyboard is broken! Or maybe your English?

This isn't twitter!

The 06 R6 is a stunning bike on the track but its quite extreme on the road. The 2005 bike is a lot easier to live with day to day.

And I'd also recommend (in English ) having a try of the other 600's for comparision before you buy. The GSXR 600 K4/K5 or K6/K7 is a much better day to day bike and the GSXR 750 even better again.

AS you know I had a 600RR for 4 years or so and I still loved the R6 that I test rode. Sure it needs to be ragged to get the best out of it but an awesome bit of kit. The double R has a great front end and is really confidence inspiring in corners. The R6 needs to have it's suspension loaded to really appreciate it in a corner. If you bimble round like you could on the double R it doesn't talk to you...not as much as the RR anyway. Once pushed it is awesome. It just demands more and more lean angle. R6 tiring - Possibly. Fun - Definitely. Oh and what a looker.

Oh and I don't like GSXR's. No reason for it. Just personal preference.

Coversely, compared to something of greater capacity they are cheaper to buy, cheaper to run, cheaper to insure and with lighter handling. 600cc and 100-odd bhp is more than enough for the road and anything more is arguably a waste.
