Had a similar incident a couple of years ago (not pigeon, some other
sort of bird). Cost me 150 squid to call a chimney sweep at 7AM on a
Sunday. Now, the way pros do it is they open all the windows prior
to freeing the bird.

The chimney sweep also put a plastic cap on the chimney to avoid a
repeat incident. This plastic cap costs pennies. Strange that
builders don't install them when building the house.

Incorrectly installed gas fire! Might have been an undercover inspector from the Register checking it out!

Next time shine a light through the aperture and when the inquisative bugger pops his head up t wat him hard.
