please help me identify this "plant"...

its got serrated edges on the leaves which are narrowish and pointy... the branches are a red/purple colour

taken from my mobile so appreciate the quality not brilliant.. soz

any help will be appreciated

Might be an Astilbe, at first glance but bit completely sure. The leaf shape varies on different varieties.

thanks white rabbit but its not that one

its got a more leathery type leaf.. the astilbe seems to have a softer leaf.. (going from the pic) i dont think this "plant" flowers tbh..

it died over winter and then over two - 3 weeks has shot up to what you see in the first pic...

i think i may have found it... Himalayan Balsalm ... a weed !!

i'm with ww, got a few in my garden. has flower like plumes, usually pink.

It deffo looks like astilbe. If so they like a slightly shady damp position. Mine thrives on neglect.
