Broken R6 throttle mod - SV650.org

Anyone had any problems with the R6 throttle mod?

I've had mine on for ages with no problems. But just recently it has been playing up. It's like the cable becomes loose after I use the throttle. Seems to be more when I blip the throttle for a down-change. Then there is LOADS of slack in it, and it's stiff to turn. But if I give the throttle a sharp twist to completely open it, the problem goes away temporarily.

I tried lubing the throttle tube and cables but that didn't make any difference. It's got worse and worse over the last week. Last night it was doing it constantly. So I stuck the standard tube on tonight and it's fine now.

Looking at the tube, there are some grooves on it. Anyone know what could be happening?

Does it get stuck when you roll off the throttle? kinda looks like its been forced back too far, do you feel it at all like click into place so to speak?

No it doesn't click. I don't notice it happening until I come off the throttle, then open it back up again and it's just loose

It is jumping over its stop, common problem with that tube on S model.

I think thats what i was trying to explain to you last night Darren (badly though...) i forced my old throttle past its stop when fitting different grips and damaged it, then when riding it would go slack if i twist the throttle the other way, but i could feel mine click, i managed to fill mine with some q bond and it worked a treat

Which model do you have?I have 1st gen,S model with R6 throttle and works fine.

Just R6 on S model pointy. All others work fine.
