Default SORN + no MOT - legality Q

Hi all

With it being SORN and no MOT, what is the legality of me riding it to the MOT station, getting my MOT then going onto the PO to tax it?

IIRC there was some exception whereby this is legal, right?

You're perfectly fine to ride the bike to a pre-arranged MOT test and back again, or to a garage or place of repair to sort any MOT fail defects out.

Stopping to get tax is slightly naughty

The bike needs to be insured, and you won't be allowed to ride to the post office to tax it once it's got the MOT. You're only allowed to ride to the MOT station and back.

The bike is already insured

I guess I'll just drive to the PO then - again, if memory serves you cant do it online after X amount of months after the original renewal right?

You are not meant to stop for ANYTHING (other than a small child running into the road or such like). It is meant to be straight to the MOT centre and straight back.
